Job description
You will be joining a large and well-established secondary school and sixth form based in Otley, West Yorkshire. The school has a proud and supportive community, with staff committed to providing an excellent learning environment for its students. This is a busy, welcoming setting where reliable technology plays an important role in supporting teaching, learning and day-to-day operations, and they are seeking an IT Technician to join their team in September, while they recruit on a more permanent basis., They are seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Technician to provide temporary IT support to both staff and pupils across the school and sixth form. You will play a key role in maintaining IT systems, responding to support requests and ensuring staff and students have access to reliable technology across the school. The successful candidate will provide first and second-line technical support, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues while assisting with the installation, configuration and maintenance of desktop PCs, laptops, printers and other devices. You will support users across a range of technologies, including Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams and OneDrive, alongside Active Directory and Azure AD account administration. The role will also involve maintaining classroom technology, interactive displays, audiovisual equipment and supporting both wired and wireless network infrastructure. In addition, you will assist with device deployment, asset management and stock control, ensuring accurate records are maintained. Working closely with colleagues, you will help deliver a responsive and effective IT support service while ensuring all work complies with safeguarding, security and data protection requirements. This is a temporary role, initially for a period of 6-8 weeks, with the chance for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
Requirements
In order to be successful, you will have experience providing 1st line support in a face-to-face end user setting, ideally with experience working in an educational setting. From a technical perspective, you must have experience working with Microsoft 365 and experience working with bespoke educational technologies would also be beneficial. You will be available from early September and able to commit to a minimum of 8-week contract. What you’ll get in return
