Software Quality Continuous Integration DevOps Software Engineering

Job description

Senior Technical Lead, Bristol

Senior Technical Lead for a Bristol-based software consultancy that builds bespoke systems for clients across a wide range of sectors.

What sets them apart is their commitment to social impact. Through their charity foundation they donate 10% of profits to local causes and invest significant pro-bono engineering work into community projects, whether that’s a mobile care app for a large care home provider or a digital platform helping hospital wards communicate with families. The work is genuinely interesting, and they back up their tech-agnostic approach with quarterly Innovation Days to explore emerging technologies.

In this role you’ll take full technical ownership of complex, multi-faced projects, handling architecture, DevOps, delivery, and stakeholder management simultaneously. You’ll also play a key part in mentoring and developing the wider technical team, acting as a senior escalation point and driving engineering excellence across the business.

Key Skills

  • Strong architectural and systems design capability across complex, multi-axis delivery environments
  • Track record of mentoring developers and technical leads to elevate team-wide engineering standards
  • Excellent stakeholder management able to navigate demanding client environments and challenge requirements constructively

Necessary Experience

  • Substantial hands-on software engineering background with progression into technical leadership
  • Experience owning DevOps/CI-CD practices, code quality standards, and non-functional requirements
  • Comfortable contributing to technical pre-sales, proposals, and solution discovery work

Hybrid role in central Bristol. Salary up to £80,000.

Benefits include a 9% employer pension, 25 days holiday plus an additional 3.5 days for team events (BBQs, company trips, summer and Christmas parties), and access to the profit share scheme.
