Job description

We’re looking for a lead Unreal Engine developer to shape and lead our client’s real-time visualisation capability, combining strong Unreal Engine expertise with strategic technical leadership.

You’ll set the technical direction for interactive visualisation, digital twins, VR and immersive experiences, while driving innovation, scalable delivery and team development.

You’ll work across design, development and project teams, providing hands-on technical leadership and helping grow the organisation’s real-time capabilities., * Define the technical strategy, standards and best practices for real-time visualisation.

  • Lead Unreal Engine development across interactive, immersive and digital twin projects.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership on complex projects.
  • Develop team capability through mentoring, guidance and leadership.
  • Drive innovation and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Support project scoping, estimation, planning and business development.
  • Ensure quality, performance and consistency across projects and regions.
  • Lead resource planning, capability development and technical governance.
  • Support recruitment, training and succession planning.
  • Contribute to technology and investment strategies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of 3D visualisation
  • Advanced Blueprint and Unreal Engine development experience (UE5 preffered)
  • Strong understanding of Unreal architecture and working knowledge of C++.
  • Experience building scalable frameworks and reusable systems.
  • Strong knowledge of optimisation, debugging and performance.
  • Experience delivering VR, immersive and interactive visualisation.
  • Experience leading technical teams and developing capability.
  • Knowledge of digital twins and data-driven visualisation.
  • Strong communication, mentoring and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and experience supporting project estimation and business development.
  • A passion for emerging technologies and innovation.

  • AR, MR, WebXR or standalone VR experience (desirable)
  • Experience integrating BIM, GIS, Cesium, IoT or operational data (desirable), If you have extensive 3D visualisation and Unreal development experience and are keen to lead a dynamic team working on a variety of exciting projects.
