A well-established bank in London is looking to hire a Head of Applications to take ownership of its core business applications and application strategy.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role where you’ll be responsible for the stability, evolution, and strategic direction of critical banking systems, working closely with technology teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.

What you’ll be doing:

• Owning the end-to-end application landscape, including core banking and key integrations
• Leading and developing a team across application support, development, and architecture
• Balancing change and transformation with day-to-day operational stability
• Working with the business to ensure applications support growth, efficiency, and customer experience
• Managing vendors, incidents, SLAs, and regulatory expectations in a controlled banking environment

• Strong experience leading banking or financial services applications
• Background in core banking platforms (e.g. Equation, Temenos, FLEXCUBE, Finacle or similar)
• Comfortable owning both delivery and support
• Solid understanding of application lifecycle management, DevOps, and cloud (Azure ideal)
• A collaborative leader who can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
