Network Engineer

• We design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure using Cisco Campus Networking 9300 series and Cisco Nexus switches.
• We configure, deploy, and maintain Palo Alto Prisma Access firewall policies to ensure secure access to critical applications and data.
• We administer and configure FortiGate firewalls for advanced security measures and threat management.
• We monitor network performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot to maintain optimal network health.
• We develop and enforce network security policies, procedures, and standards to protect our organisational assets.
• We collaborate with IT and security teams to assess and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.
• We provide advanced technical support.
• We escalate issues and manage changes with third-party managed service providers.
• We maintain and support Cisco ISE, including AAA policies, authentication, authorisation, and accounting.
• We support and troubleshoot Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and associated Wi-Fi networks.
• We assist with the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Fortinet and Cisco devices.
• We stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep our network infrastructure robust and up to date.
• We comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations and Principles.

We are a hybrid and flexible employer, with working arrangements dependent on the requirements of the role and subject to manager approval. This Network Engineer position reports directly to our Infrastructure Platforms Manager and focuses on maintaining our existing LAN/WAN infrastructure while also supporting projects, office moves, and changes. The role includes collaboration across IT and security teams, advanced technical support, and work with a range of technologies including Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ISE, wireless controllers, and Microsoft Azure. • We require at least 5 years experience in network engineering or a similar support role.
• We require in-depth knowledge of core network fundamentals, including Layer 2/3 technologies, routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, and network troubleshooting.
• We require proven experience with Cisco products, including Catalyst and Nexus switches.
• We require expertise in Cisco ISE, including configuration, optimisation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation of AAA policies.
• We require a strong understanding of network security protocols, including RADIUS, TACACS+, and 802.1X.
• We require strong understanding of Cisco Wireless LAN configurations, wireless protocols, and security principles.
• We require relevant Azure and Cisco qualifications.
• We require HLD/LLD documentation skills.
• We require ITIL knowledge.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Azure cloud stack is required.
• FortiGate and wider Fortinet experience is desirable.
• Fortinet certifications such as NSE 4, NSE 5, or higher are highly desirable.
