Job description
The System Engineer role will support a large-scale Linux environment focused on system administration, automation, virtualization, and infrastructure sustainment within a mission-focused environment supporting the Fort Meade customer. Responsibilities include installation and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, maintaining system security integrity, monitoring compute/network/storage systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing enhancements to improve system reliability and performance.
Key technical areas include:
- Linux CLI administration
- Bash/Python scripting and automation
- Red Hat Satellite
- VMware ESXi and virtualization
- Large-scale Linux cluster operations
- Infrastructure as Code tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
- Docker/containerization
- System monitoring tools including Nagios and HPE OneView
- Security compliance within STE/STN environments
Desired experience includes Kubernetes, distributed file systems (Weka, CEPH, GPFS, HDFS), and Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
This role requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph. Unfortunately, CTRL+ is unable to sponsor clearances or polygraph processing for this position, so candidates must already possess the required clearance and polygraph in order to be considered.
