Job description
Our client is seeking a Design Engineer to join their manufacturing operation in Staverton. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong CAD and technical design experience to support the development of both standard and bespoke products.
Working closely with production, sales, customers, and suppliers, you’ll play a key role in turning customer requirements into practical engineering solutions while supporting product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives., * Create and update engineering drawings for new and existing products.
- Produce bills of materials, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Support production teams with technical advice and design improvements.
- Work with customers to understand requirements and provide engineering solutions.
- Assist with product testing, validation, and performance improvements.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source materials and components.
- Investigate technical issues and implement corrective actions where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and new product development projects.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a Design Engineer position within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CAD software such as Solid Edge, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work across different departments.
- Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
