Job description

We’re currently working with a high-performing secondary school in Manchester that is looking to appoint a Data Officer to join its support team. You’ll be working closely with colleagues across the school, helping to maintain accurate student information and providing data support throughout the academic year.

This would suit someone with previous experience in a school or education setting, although candidates with strong administrative or data experience outside of education may also be considered. What Will You Be Doing?

The role is varied and will involve supporting the school with a range of data and administrative tasks, including:

  • Maintaining accurate student records and information
  • Updating the school’s Management Information System (MIS)
  • Supporting assessment and reporting cycles
  • Producing reports, spreadsheets and data for staff
  • Checking information and correcting any inaccuracies
  • Assisting with attendance, admissions and student data
  • Supporting examination and curriculum information
  • Responding to data requests from teaching and leadership staff
  • Assisting with statutory returns and census information
  • Maintaining confidentiality when dealing with student records
  • Helping to improve data processes and systems across the school

Requirements

If you’re someone who enjoys working with data, keeping things organised and making sure the detail is right, this could be a good opportunity to consider., Good Excel and IT skills are important, along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines. Experience using SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or a similar school MIS would be useful.
