Job description
We are seeking a proactive, dependable IT Assistant to support the development, installation and maintenance of computer systems within the business to ensure maximum efficiencies and productivity at every level of the business. The ideal candidate is based within a reliable commute and bring a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience, preferably having supported IT ops in a logistics or manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills are essential, including fluency in English, as the role involves regular interaction with colleagues across the business. You will be a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced setting, contributing positively to the team while delivering effective day-to-day IT support. The IT Assistant is responsible for the following:
- Support the development, installation and maintenance of computer systems.
- Testing and modifying systems to ensure that that they operate appropriately and reliably.
- Connect and set up hardware as required.
- Support compliance with software licensing laws.
- Support upgrades of software.
- Keep up to date with new technology.
- Support housekeeping and maintenance procedures and putting them into operation. Maintain network accounts and passwords as required.
- Maintain IP addresses.
- Support the purchase of technology resources (Principally software).
- Development and maintenance of reports and sources of business information. Supporting the IT and wider teams where appropriate.
- Documentation of systems and of problem resolution.
- Providing user support, advice and feedback.

Requirements
Qualifications IT-related qualification (e.g., Level 3 Diploma, CompTIA A+, or similar). Evidence of ongoing technical development. Experience 1-2 years in an IT support or similar environment. Experience supporting: Windows 10/11Microsoft 365 environments. Basic IT housekeeping and system maintenance. Hardware installation and configuration. Exposure to software upgrades or deployments. Experience documenting processes and troubleshooting steps. Knowledge & Skills Strong user support and communication skills. Understanding of: User accounts, passwords, permissions. IP addressing and basic networking. Software licensing and compliance. Ability to test, modify, and verify systems under guidance. Personal Attributes Logical thinker with good problem solving capability. Confident working independently on routine tasks. Comfortable supporting a mix of office and production floor staff. Reliable and able to prioritise workload effectively., Experience with SQL, reporting tools, or system testing. Experience in manufacturing or distribution settings. Exposure to ERP, WMS, or business information systems.
