Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys providing technical support in a busy school environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring staff and pupils have access to reliable IT systems and equipment to support teaching and learning., As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing first and second-line IT support to staff and students.
  • Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software and network equipment.
  • Setting up laptops, desktops, tablets, printers and other ICT equipment.
  • Managing user accounts, passwords and permissions.
  • Supporting classroom technology, including interactive whiteboards and AV equipment.
  • Assisting with Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems and school management software.
  • Maintaining accurate IT asset records and documentation.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Supporting cyber security and data protection procedures.
  • Liaising with external IT providers where required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an IT support or IT Technician role.
  • Experience working within a school or education setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience supporting networks, printers and end-user devices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
