Job description
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys providing technical support in a busy school environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring staff and pupils have access to reliable IT systems and equipment to support teaching and learning., As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Providing first and second-line IT support to staff and students.
- Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software and network equipment.
- Setting up laptops, desktops, tablets, printers and other ICT equipment.
- Managing user accounts, passwords and permissions.
- Supporting classroom technology, including interactive whiteboards and AV equipment.
- Assisting with Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems and school management software.
- Maintaining accurate IT asset records and documentation.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
- Supporting cyber security and data protection procedures.
- Liaising with external IT providers where required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an IT support or IT Technician role.
- Experience working within a school or education setting is desirable but not essential.
- Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Experience supporting networks, printers and end-user devices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
