More details on the USG Statement of Core Values and Code of Conduct are available in USG Board Policy 08.02.18.01.02., This incumbent will serve as a statistical and visual technician in translating data from internal and external partners into actionable and practical organizational intelligence to promote data-informed decision making. This individual’s primary responsibilities will be building custom statistical and visual analytics for client-driven projects using Microsoft’s PowerBI and Qlik’s Qlik Cloud along with open-source computing and statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python, and Julia). Additional responsibilities include performing other procedural steps in the data science life cycle such as data ingestion, cleaning, management, and exploration using open-source and proprietary resources that are locally hosted or cloud-based. Secondary responsibilities include serving in a leading role for completing initiatives that are relevant to the Institute’s strategic missions such as delivering technical training, building and editing reports and visuals, and providing technical and statistical assistance on ad-hoc projects. This position will also assist in delivering technical training on business intelligence tools, AI, and data management and use., Does this position have operation, access, or control of financial resources? Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience, This role involves a service-oriented mentality with a high sense of ownership of the projects, problems and requests assigned. This employee will be actively participating in a high energy, creative development environment serving state and local government partners. Successful candidates will demonstrate initiative in maintaining and updating core statistical, computational, and technical skills. Successful candidates should have a high degree of independence and self-direction when working on projects. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, data management, and data visualization principles.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights and recommendations for clients.
  • Experience developing and implementing statistical, computational, and reporting solutions to support project objectives.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively through reports, presentations, training, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients, faculty, staff, and project teams to identify needs and deliver data-informed solutions.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
