Job description
Position Summary: The Network Administrator operates, secures, maintains, and troubleshoots the FBLP Experimentation Division’s closed SIMNET. The position ensures reliable network connectivity and system interoperability during experiment preparation, integration testing, pilot runs, record runs, and other mission events. Primary Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, network cabling, storage devices, Voice over Internet Protocol equipment, and associated network components.
- Configure network devices in accordance with Army Regulation 25-2, applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides, and approved configuration baselines.
- Monitor SIMNET availability, performance, capacity, connectivity, and cybersecurity status.
- Support the network connectivity required to federate simulations through Bifrost, High Level Architecture, or Distributed Interactive Simulation.
- Diagnose and resolve network outages, connectivity failures, configuration conflicts, and interoperability issues.
- Maintain network diagrams, IP-address information, device inventories, configuration records, and engineering-change documentation.
- Conduct or support vulnerability scans, intrusion detection, patching, malware protection, and remediation of identified network weaknesses.
- Coordinate network changes with the Government Information Assurance Support Officer and other authorized personnel.
- Provide immediate technical support during experimentation events and meet the PWS response and restoration standards.
- Evaluate emerging network technologies and recommend approved improvements to SIMNET performance, reliability, and security., Position descriptions serve as a guideline and may not be construed as a guarantee of employment. Summit Technologies, Inc. is an at-will organization.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and active Secret eligibility supported by a Tier 3 investigation, as required by the final solicitation and DD Form 254.
- Seven years of network administration, network maintenance, hardware repair, or related technical experience.
- DoD 8140/IAT Level II qualification.
- CompTIA Security+ and Government-accepted networking certification; Cisco experience is required.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, DISA STIGs, RMF, vulnerability-management tools, and secure DoD network operations
