Job description

We are looking for a talented and creative UX/UI Designer to join our fully remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing engaging and intuitive digital experiences that support our mission to combat neurodegenerative diseases. You will work on a variety of projects, from internal research tools to public-facing digital platforms, ensuring that all our digital products are user-friendly, accessible, and visually aligned with our brand. This position is available on both a part-time and full-time basis, offering flexibility to the right candidate. The compensation for this role is between $25 - $35 USD per hour, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities

  • Translate complex scientific requirements and user needs into intuitive wireframes, user flows, mock-ups, and prototypes.
  • Design and deliver elegant, user-centred interfaces and visual designs for web and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate closely with researchers, product managers, and developers to define and implement innovative solutions.
  • Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent design system and brand guidelines across all digital products.
  • Effectively communicate design ideas and rationale to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Stay current with the latest UX/UI trends, techniques, and technologies to ensure our digital presence is modern and effective.

Requirements

  • Proven professional experience as a UX/UI Designer or in a similar role, supported by a strong portfolio of design projects.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • A solid understanding of user-centred design principles, accessibility standards, and interaction design best practices.
  • Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail, typography, and colour.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to problem-solving and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
  • Experience designing for the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or scientific research sectors is highly desirable but not essential.

Benefits & conditions

  • A competitive hourly rate and flexible working arrangements.
  • The opportunity to work remotely as part of a globally distributed team.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact by contributing to groundbreaking research in neurodegenerative diseases.
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment dedicated to innovation and excellence.
