Data Engineer

The Role As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data platforms, pipelines, and applications that support the wider business. Responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines
• Designing and managing data storage and analytics environments
• Developing and improving data models to enhance data quality and accessibility
• Integrating new data sources and optimising existing data workflows
• Building and maintaining business-facing applications and tools
• Monitoring data systems, platform performance, and data availability
• Collaborating with central IT teams on technical initiatives
• Providing technical guidance and training to colleagues within the data team
• Supporting best practices in data engineering, governance, and platform management

• Strong commercial experience in Data Engineering
• Expertise with Azure, Databricks, DBT, Power BI, and Unity Catalog
• Strong SQL and Python skills
• Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines
• Solid understanding of data modelling principles
• Knowledge of database architecture and data platform design
• Experience working with cloud-based data environments
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring or supporting more junior team members
