Job description

  • Provide first-tier technical support to end users via phone, email, and in person
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and network issues
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate IT personnel when necessary
  • Monitor and manage the IT help desk ticketing system
  • Prioritize, assign, and track support tickets to ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for IT equipment, software, and services
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding orders, invoicing, and software renewals
  • Track and manage IT inventory and technology assets
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting resources
  • Assist with routine IT audits, compliance activities, and policy implementation
  • Support IT projects and technology initiatives as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday Penmac Staffing is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist for a client company. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting employees, and helping maintain efficient IT operations. The IT Support Specialist will provide first-level technical support while assisting with help desk management, documentation, purchasing, and other critical IT functions.Requirements for the IT Support Specialist

  • Degree or pursuit of a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Previous experience in an IT support, help desk, or IT coordinator role preferred
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and basic networking concepts
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business applications
