Job description

The Dayforce Systems Configuration Lead is responsible for governing, maintaining, and continuously improving the configuration of the organisation’s Dayforce platform following implementation. This role ensures that Dayforce remains accurate, compliant, and optimised to support the business’s workforce, payroll, and people-management processes. The post holder acts as a key link between Retail, HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT, ensuring that configuration changes are well controlled, documented, and aligned to both business requirements and Dayforce best practice., * Configuration Management: Own and maintain configuration across all active Dayforce modules (Core HR, Payroll, WFM, Advanced Scheduling, Benefits, and Talent).

  • Change Control & Governance: Review, test, and implement approved configuration changes through structured governance, maintaining version control and full audit documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and deliver system enhancements that simplify operational processes, improve data quality, or enhance user experience.
  • Testing & Release Readiness: Coordinate regression and user acceptance testing for configuration changes and quarterly Dayforce releases. Validate results and oversee safe deployment.
  • Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure configuration supports accurate payroll processing, meets legislative requirements, and maintains data integrity across all modules.
  • Dayforce Roadmap Alignment: Review and interpret quarterly Dayforce release notes, assess system impacts, and lead the adoption of relevant new functionality.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with HR, Payroll, and operational leads to assess business requirements, prioritise changes, and ensure system setup continues to meet operational needs.
  • Vendor & Support Liaison: Act as the key client contact for Dayforce Support cases and escalation, ensuring effective communication, resolution tracking, and internal knowledge capture.
  • Knowledge & Documentation: Maintain configuration documentation, data dictionaries, and change logs. Build internal capability through knowledge sharing and user support.

Requirements

  • Hands-on configuration experience within Dayforce across one or more modules (HR, Payroll, WFM, or Advanced Scheduling).
  • Strong understanding of workforce management and HR/payroll operations, ideally in multi-site or shift-based environments.
  • Proven experience in post-implementation system administration, configuration, and change management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate operational requirements into practical system configuration.
  • Experience in system governance and testing disciplines.
  • Familiarity with UK payroll and employment legislation advantageous.
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience in HR, Operations, or IT desirable., * Operational & Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Dayforce configuration and its application in complex operational environments.
  • Governance & Control: Structured approach to managing change and maintaining auditability.
  • Problem Solving: Logical, data-driven approach to resolving configuration issues and driving process improvement.
  • Collaboration: Strong partnership skills across HR, Payroll, and Operations; able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintains a high level of accuracy and documentation discipline.
  • Adaptability: Keeps pace with system updates and changing business priorities.

  • Configuration accuracy and compliance maintained across all modules.
  • Timely adoption of relevant Dayforce functionality from product releases.
  • Reduced operational issues and improved process efficiency.
  • Positive feedback from HR, Payroll, and operational end users.
  • Well-controlled and auditable system change management process.
