Job description

James Carrera of Digital Data Foundation is sourcing a Business Intelligence Specialist will work within an agile development team providing effective technical solutions through the design, implementation, and testing of Microsoft BI technologies., * Design, develop, implement, and maintain business intelligence using Microsoft BI technologies.

Understand and implement data modeling using best practices and star schema design.
Analyze complex data from multiple sources including SQL Server databases and Analysis Services Tabular models.
Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to gather requirements and provide technical expertise
Distil complex business concepts and data into readily understood information and visualisations for key stakeholders to drive their business performance
Develop relationships with our internal functional groups, to improve the quality and availability of high-value data.
Work in collaboration with data and analytics governance members to improve our data structure.
Stay up to date on emerging technologies and make recommendations where applicable

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a technology or engineering field, or equivalent combination of experience with 2-5 years experience in delivering business intelligence solutions

Intermediate experience with Microsoft Power BI including data modeling, ETL, and authoring DAX for querying and calculations
Strong working knowledge of: Power BI, Power Query, DAX, SQL, and best practices in data visualization
Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and agile methodology
Comfortable working with colleagues at all levels within the firm; strong interpersonal skills
Flexible self-starter comfortable with tackling new projects independently while also being able to take direction from senior staff
Ability to clearly explain both business and technical BI concepts; superior communication and presentation skills
Ability to quickly learn new software and technologies
Ability to work independently in a team environment, effectively manage time and tight deadlines; able to multitask
International law firm experience preferred
