Business Process & Systems Automation Specialist

This role is focused on identifying and eliminating inefficiencies across firm operations, working with staff to test new software and be the owner of such software. The ideal candidate will work directly with partners and staff to understand how work is performed, identify time-consuming processes, and implement practical automation and system improvements that reduce manual effort and improve productivity.

This is a hands-on role focused on real operational improvement, not just documentation or analysis.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with partners and staff to identify repetitive, time-consuming, and manual processes across the firm
• Analyze current workflows in tax, accounting, and administrative functions to identify opportunities for improvement
• Design and implement workflow improvements using existing systems and automation tools
• Build and maintain automated workflows, templates, forms, and standardized processes
• Improve and optimize firm systems including tax, practice management, document management, and productivity tools
• Support implementation and rollout of new software and system enhancements
• Research and recommend practical automation solutions, including AI and integration tools, to reduce manual work
• Work with staff to ensure new workflows are adopted and effective in practice
• Continuously evaluate processes and identify additional opportunities for efficiency improvements
• Own and manage firm software applications

• 3-7+ years of experience in business systems, operations, process improvement, or workflow automation
• Strong experience improving workflows or implementing technology solutions in a business environment
• Comfortable working directly with staff and leadership to understand real operational processes
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to turn manual processes into efficient workflows
• Experience with business software systems (accounting, practice management, document management, etc.) preferred
• Exposure to automation tools, integrations, or workflow platforms (Power Automate, Zapier, etc.) a plus
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and implement practical solutions
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required if experience is strong
