Job description

At ABN AMRO Core Transactions we are looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer who is passionate about payments. Our systems are a key part of the stability of the bank. Then we are looking for you!, As a Frontend Engineer in our Core Transactions grid, you help shape ABN AMRO’s ambition to be a personal bank in a digital age. Together with your interdisciplinary DevOps team (FE, APP, BE), you work on developing and maintaining high-traffic, Azure-hosted applications that support the bank’s critical payment processes. You collaborate closely with other teams, ensure smooth integration across systems, and take responsibility for the full lifecycle of your components. You also handle incidents and ensure timely resolution within SLAs, contributing directly to the stability and reliability of our payment landscape., At ABN AMRO’s Core Transactions grid, we play a central role in driving innovation and supporting the growth strategy of Personal & Business Banking. Our mission is to ensure the efficient and secure processing of payments and transfers across the entire payment chain. Requirements

  • Vue 3 and TypeScript
  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
  • Solid experience with: unit testing, regression testing and end-to-end testing
  • Knowledge of lifecycle management
  • Experience working in Scrum/Agile environments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Clean coding practices: separate concerns, write pure functions, apply clear and meaningful naming conventions
  • Refactoring without fear: improving code quality continuously
  • Attention to detail and ability to write technical documentation

  • Proactive and open to feedback (e.g., explaining major changes to the team)* Strong craftsmanship mindset: focus on code quality, maintainability, and continuous improvement

Nice-to-have skills

  • Experience in frontend library development for reusable components and shared functionality
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow
  • Awareness of over-engineering: keep solutions simple and pragmatic
  • Challenge the status quo: question assumptions and propose innovative solutions
  • Exposure to Extreme Programming (XP) practices, such as: pair programming test-driven development (TDD)
  • Responsible use of AI: leveraging AI tools ethically and effectively in development workflows
