Job description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary AI/ML hands-on leader that works alongside Product Management and drives the AI/ML architectures for NXP’s next-generation edge products and solutions. Deep technical expertise and strategic leadership are required for the successful integration of AI technologies into innovative semiconductor and embedded system platforms.

The successful candidate will lead a team of AI/ML architects and engineers while serving as a key technical NXP representative for customers, partners, and the broader industry AI/ML ecosystem, playing a critical role in shaping the company’s AI strategy, influencing industry direction, and strengthening NXP’s position as a leader in Edge AI innovation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Drives the team responsible for and is hands-on involved in:
  • supporting Product Management in defining the ideal AIML architecture for target products and solutions, finding the optimal choice meeting customer requirements, performance, power, and cost constraints.

  • working closely with SoC and System Architects to scope, create, edit, and publish AIML architecture specifications, requirements, and related documentation.
  • modeling and where needed prototyping AI use-cases on current and future platforms.
  • leading internal and third-party AI IP evaluation, benchmarking, and selection activities.

  • Primary representative of the AI IP & Solutions team with external partners, industry consortia, standards bodies, and relevant open-source ecosystems.
  • Project NXP’s AI/ML Edge Leadership through publications and participation in various forums.

Requirements

  • Electronic Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science. MSc required. PhD considered a strong plus, ideally in an AI/ML or related specialization.

  • 10+ years of experience in related fields.

  • AI/ML expertise with at least 5 years of practical experience, preferably in a mixed HW-SW environment.
  • Strong and proven innovative, problem-solving mind set.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.

Please note: The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks. The assignment may/will be in scope of security certifications, therefore a conscious and reliable way of working is necessary.
