Job description

SAIC is seeking a Junior Software Tester to join a team of software, test, and systems engineers who develop, test, and maintain the Joint Network Design Aid (JNDA) software in Huntsville, AL. JNDA is a Windows-based desktop application used to design Link-16 networks and generate associated output files. The candidate will work on an Agile Scrum team in a largely self-directed but collaborative environment., * Develop test criteria and test steps to ensure software is functioning properly

Develop automated tests using SmartBear TestComplete
Coordinate with developers to report bugs and provide feedback
Execute regression tests regularly and report issues promptly
Investigate test failures and document clear steps to reproduce them
Provide feedback on user interface design
Participate in Scrum events, including sprint planning, sprint reviews/demonstrations, and daily stand-ups

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field 0 years of relevant experience, 6+ years of experience and a High School Diploma can be accepted in lieu of a degree, * Must possess an active Interim Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required, * Software testing, quality assurance, or related experience
Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar)
Basic experience with scripting or programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar)
Ability to think critically and logically to identify test scenarios and edge cases
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including bug reporting and documentation
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with automated testing tools such as SmartBear TestComplete, Selenium, or similar
Experience creating manual test cases and executing test plans
Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Understanding of Agile Scrum and/or DevSecOps practices
Programming experience with languages such as Python, Java, or C++
Link-16 or tactical data link knowledge
