Job description

We are looking for an IT Support Technician to provide on-site support to one of our key clients.

We’re looking for a capable and personable 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer to work on-site, full-time, at one of our valued customers. You’ll be their primary point of contact for IT support - resolving issues at the desk, keeping their systems healthy, and escalating to our wider technical team when needed. It’s a great role for someone who enjoys variety, likes building relationships with the people they support, and wants to develop their skills across Microsoft, networking, virtualisation and backup technologies.

Because you’ll be embedded with the customer, we’re after someone who is confident working independently, communicates clearly with non-technical users, and takes real ownership of the service they deliver.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a contact point for staff, resolving technical issues and queries
  • Familiarise yourself with the IT estate and the business in general, enabling you to provide valuable input in to customer reviews and planning
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure IT systems are operating as expected
  • Review dashboards and respond to alerts raised by our automated monitoring
  • Escalate issues in house or to vendor support
  • Maintain documentation and accurate records of activity
  • Attend remote sites as required

Requirements

  • Proven IT related problem solving skills
  • Happy in a customer facing role, in person and remote
  • Experience of Microsoft operating systems and Office 365 management
  • Full UK driving license

Desirable

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs and networking
  • Familiar with AWS and Azure, * IT support: 1 year (required)

  • Driving Licence (required)
