Job description

As a Lead Developer, you will shape the future of digital service delivery across Wiltshire Police by leading the design, governance and continual evolution of our Halo ITSM platform. You will provide technical leadership for low-code service management solutions, automations, integrations and AI-enabled capabilities that improve user experience, operational effectiveness and service performance. Working across multidisciplinary DDaT teams, you will help define standards, drive innovation and ensure the platform delivers secure, scalable and user-centred services that support modern policing and digital transformation.

What you will be doing

Provide technical leadership for the Halo ITSM platform, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned to organisational and user needs. Design, govern and continually improve workflows, automations, self-service capabilities, service catalogues and digital service management processes. Lead the development of integrations between Halo ITSM, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, identity services and other enterprise technologies. Establish and maintain platform standards, governance controls, reusable components and development patterns to maximise platform value and sustainability. Act as the technical authority for complex service management, workflow automation and AI-enabled solutions, providing assurance on design, security and operational impact. Work closely with Service Owners, Architects, Business Analysts and operational teams to identify opportunities for service improvement, automation and innovation. Use user feedback, service insight and performance data to drive continual improvement and platform optimisation. Coach and mentor developers and platform specialists, building organisational capability in Halo ITSM, service automation and modern DDaT delivery practices., Tattoos - you will also be requested to provide photos and describe of any visible tattoos you have /*generated inline style */

Requirements

Significant experience designing, developing, governing and supporting solutions within Halo ITSM or a comparable enterprise service management platform. Experience leading the design of workflows, automations, integrations and digital services that deliver measurable operational and business benefits. Strong knowledge of IT Service Management principles, service management tooling and modern digital delivery practices. Experience establishing technical standards, governance controls and secure-by-design approaches within enterprise platforms. The ability to translate complex user, operational and organisational requirements into effective technical solutions and service improvements. Experience influencing stakeholders, providing technical leadership and working effectively across multidisciplinary teams. A passion for innovation, automation, AI-enabled capabilities and continuous improvement, with a focus on delivering outstanding user outcomes. ITIL 4 Foundation certification, with advanced ITSM, Halo ITSM or related service management certifications and evidence of continuous professional development highly desirable.
