Cloud Engineer

Roles of this type may sit within technology teams responsible for building and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure that supports business-critical applications and services. The work could involve collaborating across development, operations and architecture teams to implement cloud solutions, optimize infrastructure performance, and ensure systems reliability at scale. You could find yourself working with established cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP, alongside containerization and orchestration technologies, with scope to contribute to infrastructure decisions and deployment strategies., * Designing and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform

• Managing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment
• Supporting the migration of workloads to cloud platforms and optimizing cloud resource utilization
• Troubleshooting infrastructure issues and implementing solutions to improve system reliability
• Collaborating with development teams to understand application requirements and support infrastructure scaling
• Documenting infrastructure configurations and maintaining runbooks for operational support, Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Proficiency with Linux and/or Windows system administration
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Right to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

• Master’s degree
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate or equivalent cloud certification
• Experience with API design and microservices patterns
• Knowledge of SAP RISE, SAP S/4HANA or enterprise application deployment
• Familiarity with data pipeline architecture and data quality practices
• Experience with monitoring, logging and observability tools
