Hardware Diagnostics Technician

• Inspect computer systems and hardware for visible damage, missing parts, loose connections, and other defects.
• Connect computers, servers, cables, power supplies, monitors, and peripheral devices for testing.
• Power on equipment and perform assigned diagnostic tests.
• Use computer-based diagnostic software and testing procedures to identify hardware failures.
• Verify that components such as memory, storage drives, processors, power supplies, fans, and network connections operate properly.
• Review test results and determine whether equipment passes, requires additional testing, or should be sent for repair.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware and connectivity issues.
• Replace approved components, cables, or hardware after completing required training.
• Document test results, defect codes, serial numbers, and repair information accurately.
• Follow written work instructions, technical procedures, and quality standards.
• Escalate complex hardware problems to repair technicians, leads, or supervisors.
• Maintain an organized workstation and properly handle computer equipment.
• Follow ESD, safety, security, and quality-control procedures.
• Meet daily productivity, accuracy, and attendance expectations.
• Work cooperatively with testing, repair, production, quality, and warehouse teams.

Previous computer repair experience is preferred but not required. Training may be provided to candidates with related experience in electronics, installation, low-voltage systems, technical assembly, device repair, quality inspection, automotive electrical work, maintenance, or equipment troubleshooting., Relevant experience may include:

• Computer hardware testing or repair
• Desktop, laptop, server, or electronic-device troubleshooting
• Electronics assembly or production testing
• Cellphone, tablet, gaming console, or printer repair
• Cable, internet, satellite, or telecommunications installation
• Low-voltage wiring or security-system installation
• Automotive electrical diagnostics
• Appliance, copier, ATM, vending-machine, or equipment repair
• Quality inspection or manufacturing
• Technical assembly or mechanical troubleshooting
• Using hand tools, scanners, meters, test equipment, or diagnostic software, * High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer literacy and data-entry ability.
• Ability to identify common computer components and cable connections, or willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow step-by-step instructions.
• Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
• Comfortable working with electronic equipment, connectors, cables, and small components.
• Ability to read and record serial numbers, test results, and defect information accurately.
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand for most of the shift in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to lift and move computer equipment as required.
• Willingness to complete technical and safety training.
