Job description
We’re looking for a Platform Implementation Lead to own the technical configuration of government SaaS deployments - most immediately, a public records request tracking platform for a California city government client. This is not a from-scratch system design role. You’ll be configuring, integrating, and tailoring an existing commercial platform (e.g., Granicus/GovQA or comparable records/case-management software) to meet a public agency’s specific workflow, branding, and compliance requirements.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Configure department routing, workflow automation, and templated correspondence within a commercial records-management platform
- Set up SSO/identity integration (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID) and manage user access structures
- Configure public-facing portals to match a client’s existing site branding and design system
- Build reporting and dashboard views for administrators and government stakeholders
- Support data migration/import from legacy tracking systems (spreadsheets, email, prior tools)
- Partner with a Security & Compliance lead on CJIS-aware access segregation, encryption, and audit-readiness for sensitive government data (e.g., police records)
- Support UAT cycles directly with government client stakeholders and resolve configuration issues in real time
- Work within compressed government procurement timelines (typically 8-12 week implementation windows)
Requirements
- Hands-on experience configuring a commercial SaaS/COTS platform for an external client - ideally in GovTech, records management, case management, or a closely adjacent compliance-heavy workflow platform. Direct experience with Granicus, GovQA, NextRequest, JustFOIA, or similar is a strong plus, but platform-agnostic configuration depth (e.g., ServiceNow, Salesforce, or similar workflow platforms) is also relevant.
- Comfort working directly with non-technical government staff (City Clerk offices, records/compliance teams, department administrators) to translate their process into system configuration
- Working knowledge of SSO/SAML or OIDC integration (Microsoft Entra ID experience preferred)
- Familiarity with public-sector compliance considerations (CJIS, ADA/WCAG 2.1, data privacy for PII) - deep security engineering not required, but you should know enough to work well alongside a dedicated Security & Compliance lead
- Prior government or public-sector client experience strongly preferred; understanding of RFP-driven procurement timelines is a plus
- Must be able to work on-site in our Napa, CA office full-time; this is not a remote or hybrid position
- Some travel required (e.g., client site visits, government agency meetings/demos, occasional out-of-area engagements)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship, now or in the future
- Must be able to pass a background check (this role may involve access to sensitive government records, including law enforcement data). Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act and other applicable fair chance laws.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
