Job description
We are seeking a Workstation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in workstation deployment, hardware and software configuration, inventory control, and customer support and a proven ability to coordinate orders, execute on-site installs and moves, and resolve break/fix requests while adhering to security standards., * Ensure equipment is labeled according to client specifications.
- Research, verify, and document device specifications per purchase orders and organizational standards.
- Coordinate and perform equipment relocations with service and business units.
- Independently provide on-site installation, customer service, and technical repair support based on requests.
- Serve as field liaison with support services such as Help Desk, Applications, and Materials Management.
- Assist with end user training and explain basic concepts including requirements, moves/adds/changes, scheduling, and break/fix impacts.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment to fulfill installations and repairs.
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure teams to manage parts inventory.
- Evaluate and process equipment in alignment with IT Security policies and guidelines.
- Participate in overtime and on-call rotations as required.
Requirements
- Two years of customer service experience.
- Organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively.
- Proficiency with ticket tracking software and documentation tools.
- Flexibility to handle special projects, urgent requests, and high-priority orders.
- Understanding of computer terminology such as CPU, Internet, Networking, Client/Server, and LAN/WAN to align solutions to needs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and work with arms above shoulder level.
- Ability to lift seventy-five pounds or more and distinguish colors.
Preferred Skills:
- Two years of customer service experience supporting computers.
- Associate degree, or two years of technical school training in Computers, Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma.
- Preferred: N/A.
Certifications & Licensure:
- Valid driver’s license.
