Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Center Lead Technician to oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex telecommunications and networking systems within our data center environment. This dynamic role requires a proactive leader who can manage technical operations, ensure system integrity, and deliver exceptional customer service. As a pivotal member of our team, you will lead field service activities, coordinate equipment repairs, and implement advanced cabling and networking solutions to support our mission-critical infrastructure. Your expertise in fiber optics, network wiring, and telecommunications systems will drive operational excellence and ensure seamless connectivity across all platforms., * Lead the installation, configuration, and testing of structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage electrical wiring to support data center operations.

  • Troubleshoot and repair telecommunications equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and VoIP telephony solutions using diagnostic tools and schematics.
  • Perform fiber splicing, fiber optic system installation, and cable termination to ensure high-quality connectivity standards are met.
  • Conduct routine inspections using CCTV surveillance systems, RF testing tools, Ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify issues proactively.
  • Manage network installation projects involving Ethernet cabling, LAN setup, network wiring, and telecommunication system deployment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients with technical support requests related to communication systems and network infrastructure.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, schematics, test results, and incident reports to support ongoing maintenance efforts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in field service roles within data centers or telecommunications environments with a focus on network wiring and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, Ethernet protocols, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and VoIP systems.
  • Hands-on experience with fiber optic systems installation-fiber splicing, cable termination-and associated testing equipment such as optical power meters.
  • Familiarity with telecommunication testing tools including cable testers, Ohmmeters, radio frequency (RF) testers, and structured cabling standards (Cat5/Cat6).
  • Ability to interpret schematics for telecommunications systems and electrical wiring diagrams for AC/DC electrical systems.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools necessary for cable installation and equipment repair in a data center setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams during complex installations or troubleshooting projects while maintaining high safety standards.
