Data Center Technician

• Install, configure, and maintain structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage electrical wiring to support network and telecommunication systems.
• Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to ensure high-quality data transmission.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and telecommunications testing equipment to identify faults quickly.
• Conduct network installation tasks involving Ethernet cabling, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and other networking hardware to establish reliable communication links.
• Set up and test telecommunication systems including VoIP solutions, Avaya platforms, and radio frequency (RF) testing to guarantee optimal performance.
• Maintain telecommunications testing equipment and perform routine inspections to uphold system integrity.
• Assist with power systems maintenance involving AC/DC electrical systems and low-voltage electrical wiring to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
• Support customer service efforts by providing technical assistance on-site during field service visits or system upgrades.
• Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams for accurate system installation and troubleshooting procedures.
• Repair or replace faulty equipment such as network switches, routers, telephony hardware, or computer hardware components as needed.

• Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet cabling, and network wiring standards.
• Proficiency in configuring Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya telephony systems, and other telecommunications equipment.
• Skilled in fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic system installation for high-speed data transmission.
• Experience with telecommunication systems setup including VoIP deployment and communication system installation.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately for system setup or troubleshooting purposes.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, RF testers, and other testing devices essential for precise fault isolation.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools like crimpers, wire strippers, power tools for cabling work or equipment repair.
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards including Cat5e/Cat6 cabling practices and cable termination procedures.
• Understanding of low-voltage electrical wiring practices related to data centers’ power distribution units (PDUs) and electrical panels.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
