Job description
As the Help Desk function is the âfaceâ of IT to the rest of the organization, customer service and professionalism are its most important aspects. The Support Technician (Level 1) is the first point of contact for staff and students, providing timely and effective end-user support across devices, operating systems, and applications. This role helps maintain a secure and efficient IT environment by following cybersecurity and data protection best practices. - Record requests and solutions within the ticketing system
- Deploy, maintain, update, and troubleshoot devices to ensure productive and secure teaching/working environments
- Perform OS installation and provisioning (e.g., Windows image deployment, ChromeOS, iOS/iPadOS)
- Use Mobile Device Management (MDM) to enroll/manage devices, deploy apps/profiles, and troubleshoot
- Provide client-side wired/wireless network configuration and troubleshooting
- Provide timely support of district applications and assessment tools
- Create/support media projects as needed
- Maintain accurate device inventory and supporting documentation
- Ensure IT workspaces are organized, functional, and streamlined
- Active Directory and Google Workspace user and group administration (add/manage staff and student accounts as needed)
- Printer configuration, support, and maintenance
- Help support door security systems, camera systems, and bell systems
- Support end-user phone extensions and voicemail
- Install/maintain endpoint security and other required client software (per district standards)
- Escalate unresolved support tickets to Level 2, network support, and vendors when required
- Communicate with the Director of Technology Services and other team members regarding tech concerns/issues, performance bottlenecks, and security-related items as needed
Requirements
- Associateâs degree in a technology-related field (or equivalent experience); CompTIA A+/Network+ a plus
- Hands-on experience with end-user devices
- Excellent people skills (customer service)
- An understanding of enterprise computing
- Basic TCP/IP troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft, Google Workspace, and Apple iOS/iPadOS operating systems
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and data protection
- Ability to work well in a team
- Good communication skills
- Valid driverâs license and reliable means of transportation to travel between District campuses as necessary, * Help desk: 1 year (Required)
