Job description
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Handyman / AC Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across our facilities. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for all building occupants. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced setting while delivering exceptional service and solutions., * Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes quickly.
- Repair or replace HVAC components including air conditioning units, ventilation systems, ductwork, thermostats, and building automation systems.
- Conduct HVAC system installation and upgrades following design specifications and schematics to optimize system performance.
- Diagnose electrical problems related to HVAC/R systems and perform necessary repairs with precision.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to repair mechanical systems efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and system performance logs to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and building maintenance.
- Service technician experience with HVAC/R systems including troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents accurately.
- Knowledge of refrigeration principles, electrical diagnostics, plumbing systems, and boiler operation is essential.
- Familiarity with HVAC system installation procedures as well as ongoing system maintenance practices.
- Proficiency with hand tools, electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters, and equipment troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate solutions to clients or building occupants.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerants is required; additional certifications in electrical or HVAC systems are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for
driver requirements if applicable.
