Full Stack Developer

We are seeking an experienced full stack developer to write and maintain custom applications for the New York State Assembly. The applicant must be skilled in C, CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and development in a Linux environment. This is an in-office only position in Albany, NY., Programmer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of various Assembly application systems. Will perform all aspects of analysis, design, testing, and implementation of new systems, programs, and enhancements. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Work with end users to define system requirements

• Participate in relational database design

• Code and test application programs

• Resolve programming problems and determine appropriate solutions

• Proactively identify programming needs

• Develop and recommend innovative solutions

• Manage end user and Help Desk requests using a ticketing system

B.S. Degree in Computer Science or B.S. Degree in related IT field

• 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering

• Proficiency in the C programming language, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Proficiency in IBM DB2, database design, and SQL

• Working knowledge of Linux file systems, command-line interface tools, permission management, and bash scripting

• Knowledge of Windows desktop environment and Office products

• Clear and effective communication

• Efficient time management

• Ability to quickly learn and integrate new technologies

• Ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure and against tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with AJAX, and JQUERY

• Familiarity with Subversion Code Repository (SVN), * AJAX: 1 year (Preferred)
• jQuery: 1 year (Preferred)
• SVN: 1 year (Preferred)

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
