Job description

A leading trading firm is expanding its hardware teams with strong FPGA Engineers in Chicago or Austin.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and develop high-performance FPGA solutions for latency-sensitive systems
  • Accelerate critical infrastructure and data processing components through custom hardware architectures
  • Explore emerging technologies, platforms, and design approaches that can improve system performance
  • Partner closely with quantitative researchers, software engineers, and infrastructure teams
  • Develop custom hardware interfaces for next-generation computing environments
  • Evaluate and collaborate with external technology providers where appropriate
  • Take ownership of projects from concept through deployment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Professional experience designing, implementing, and validating FPGA or ASIC-based systems
  • Strong understanding of digital design principles and hardware architecture
  • Experience with HDL development using technologies such as VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
  • Familiarity with C and/or C++ is beneficial
  • Knowledge of RTL design flows, timing closure, synthesis, and constraint management
  • Experience with simulation environments, verification methodologies, and automated test frameworks
  • Exposure to hardware bring-up, debugging, and system integration is advantageous
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across software and hardware engineering disciplines
