Information Technology Specialist

Mann Eye Institute and Laser Center is currently seeking a full-time Information Technology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Mann Eye Institute IT team, this position is responsible for all aspects of information technology support, including servers, desktop systems, communications hardware/software and office systems. The IT Specialist position installs, modifies and makes repairs to server hardware and software, network communication hardware and software, personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to system users.

Our ideal candidate will have at least five years of current experience supporting technology equipment in medium sized network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices technologies in a corporate environment.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

• Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products.
• Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
• Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
• Firm understanding of network equipment and protocols.
• Orientation and training of new staff.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
• Facilitation and change management skills.
• Highly developed verbal and written communications.

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

• Experience supporting NextGen EHR and EPM applications
• An understanding of ophthalmology practice operations and equipment

Education and Experience:

• A+ certification or equivalent level of education required
• Diploma in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration; supplemented with one or more courses in current technology is not required but a plus.
