Job description
- NSX-T Architecture & Administration: Design, configure, and manage VMware NSX-T environments, including logical switches, routers, load balancers, and distributed firewalls (DFW).
- Micro-Segmentation & Security: Implement granular micro-segmentation strategies to enforce network security controls across virtual workloads.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose complex overlay network issues across transport nodes, edge nodes, and physical fabric; perform regular software updates and lifecycle management.
- Monitoring & Operations: Track infrastructure health, performance metrics, and log telemetry using VMware Aria Operations (vRealize Network Insight) and enterprise monitoring tools.
- Automation & Scripting: Write automation scripts using PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs to streamline operational workflows and disaster recovery preparedness.
- Documentation & Support: Maintain detailed topology diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while serving in an on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
Requirements
- VMware NSX-T Expertise: Enterprise-level experience administering VMware NSX-T architectures, overlay networks, and distributed security policies.
- Networking Fundamentals: Deep understanding of enterprise core networking protocols, including VLANs, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, and GENEVE.
- VMware Ecosystem: Hands-on proficiency with vSphere, ESXi hypervisors, and vCenter Server administration.
- Network Security & Micro-Segmentation: Practical knowledge of zero-trust network security, micro-segmentation design, and firewalls.
- Automation & Scripting: Demonstrated ability to automate network configurations using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, or REST API integrations.
- Location Constraint: Must currently reside in Pennsylvania and be able to work onsite in Harrisburg 1 day per week., * VMware Certifications: Active VCP-NV (VMware Certified Professional - Network Virtualization) or VCAP-NV credentials.
- Cloud Networking: Familiarity with hybrid/public cloud networking paradigms in AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Observability Tools: Hands-on experience with vRealize Network Insight (Aria Operations for Networks), SolarWinds, or Splunk.
