Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Technician (Conveyance). The Data Center Technician (Conveyance) specializes in the installation and maintenance of mission-critical cable pathway systems, including overhead trays, ladder racks, and support structures within a hyperscale environment. The ideal candidate ensures that all physical infrastructure is correctly positioned, secured, and grounded to support high-density cabling and mission-critical operations while adhering to strict design specifications., * Install and assemble overhead cable tray systems, basket trays, and ladder rack pathways according to design specifications.

  • Build and mount support structures including threaded rods, ceiling brackets, and floor-based stanchions.
  • Execute field cuts and modifications to conveyance materials using hand and power tools to fit specific layout requirements.
  • Ensure all conveyance systems are properly grounded and bonded in accordance with industry standards and project safety requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement of infrastructure.
  • Install cable penetrations and firestopping materials where pathways transition through fire-rated partitions.
  • Coordinate with electrical and mechanical trades to navigate obstructions and maintain clear routing for cable paths.
  • Perform audits and inspections of installed pathways to verify compliance with quality control standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all debris from installation is removed to protect sensitive technical equipment.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Blueprint reading?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in data center infrastructure, commercial structured cabling, or a related mechanical trade.
  • Specific experience with the installation of cable conveyance systems such as Chatsworth, Legrand, or similar brands.
  • Proficiency with mechanical tools including drills, saws, levels, and torque wrenches.
  • Ability to read and follow construction drawings and installation manuals.
  • Familiarity with TIA/EIA and BICSI standards for cable pathways and supports.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights including climbing ladders and operating aerial lifts or scaffolding.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching overhead.
  • Manual dexterity required for assembly of hardware and use of power tools.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and navigate active construction environments.
