Experteer Overview In this Principal Engineer role, you own the architecture and evolution of the real-time audio and video infrastructure for Baxter’s Connected Care products. You lead scalable, high-performance communication platforms that enable clinicians, patients, and caregivers to connect seamlessly. You will shape technical strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable SIP-based communication at scale. This position offers impact on healthcare delivery through advanced telecom and media technologies within a mission-driven culture. Compensation / Benefits * Architect and evolve core audio/video infrastructure for Connected Care * Design and operate highly available SIP routing platforms for real-time communication at scale * Scale and optimize media servers, SBCs, and signaling environments for reliability and performance * Build low-latency call routing solutions for seamless experiences * Partner with software teams to integrate voice/video into applications and services * Troubleshoot complex real-time communication challenges (media quality, latency, network performance) * Drive engineering strategy and best practices for voice/video infrastructure * Mentor engineers and act as telecom/real-time communications SME Tasks * 5+ years of real-time voice/video system experience * Deep expertise with SIP and related telecom protocols * Experience building and operating VoIP platforms in production * Production-level experience with Kamailio or FreeSWITCH * Backend services development experience in .NET or Node.js/TypeScript * Ability to troubleshoot network, signaling, and media delivery issues Key requirements * medical and dental coverage from day one * Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) * 401(k) with company match * paid holidays and 20-35 days PTO * paid parental leave * commuting benefits
