Job description

Join a leading global provider of satellite-based broadband VSAT, broadcast, government, and defence communication networks and ground station solutions, with more than 30 years of experience delivering secure, tailor-engineered satellite network and system solutions to customers across over 130 countries. The role offers the opportunity to join a small, agile international team building a brand-new LEO satellite installation and integration product from the ground up in the Bodensee region of Germany. As part of a five-person core team, the Embedded Software Engineer will have genuine day-one involvement across system architecture, tooling selection, design, implementation, and testing for a next-generation NTN/3GPP satellite product, with direct exposure to satellite communications and 5G/6G NTN infrastructure in a high-trust environment with no legacy codebase or unnecessary bureaucracy. Ready to take your expertise to the next level? Get in touch today! Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and test embedded software for SoCs, evaluation boards, and custom platforms
  • Develop drivers, middleware, and applications to enable proof-of-concepts and system prototypes
  • Integrate partner SDKs and in-house modules, supporting HW/SW co-design and debugging
  • Contribute to rapid prototyping and validation of satellite communication technologies
  • Collaborate across teams and document software design, integration, and best practices
  • Support early-phase work including system architecture, tooling selection, and hardware component decisions

Requirements

Skills/Must Have:

  • 2+ years’ embedded software development experience using C; C++, Rust or Python a plus
  • Strong real-world (not purely academic) networking background: IP, Ethernet, TCP/UDP, routing
  • Experience with embedded Linux, FPGA, microcontrollers, RTOS, SoCs, and board bring-up
  • EU citizenship required (for clearance)
  • English C1; German not required (basic knowledge a plus)

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with drivers and communication protocols, including 3GPP 5G/6G
  • Satellite Communications Experience
  • CI/CD Tooling

Benefits & conditions

  • Ground-floor role on a confidential, from-scratch LEO satellite product
  • Small, international, agile team (5 people) with direct access to technical leadership
  • Broad scope across the full project lifecycle rather than a narrow silo
  • 3 days on-site per week, * €80,000 - €100,000
