Job description

Join a dynamic team supporting a government cybersecurity and IT operations for a Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) network in San Diego. As a Systems Administrator II / SOC Helpdesk, you will serve as a Tier 2 technical support contact for security incidents, collaborating with cybersecurity experts to safeguard critical federal agency networks. This onsite role offers the opportunity to develop specialized skills in cybersecurity operations, incident management, and system configuration within a mission-critical environment. Your responsibilities include providing exceptional customer support via phone, email, and chat; documenting and tracking security tickets; analyzing scanner findings; assisting with system configurations adhering to security standards; and supporting endpoint security and network policies. Ideal for professionals seeking growth in cybersecurity support roles within a federal government context.

Requirements

  • One of the following certifications: CCNA-Security, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, or Microsoft MCSA
  • 1-3 years of experience in a service desk environment
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (preferred)
  • Customer service certification (HDI-CSR or similar, preferred)
