Systems Administrator

Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a Systems Administrator (contract). In this role, you will support and enhance the employee technology experience across a growing, fast-paced organization. This role will be responsible for endpoint management, identity and access administration, security policy enforcement, SaaS platform support, and end-user technical assistance. This role is hybrid in Austin, Tx., * Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for employees across macOS, Windows, and Linux environments.

• Manage endpoint devices using MDM platforms, including deployment, configuration, and policy enforcement.
• Administer identity and access management systems, including user onboarding, offboarding, MFA, and access reviews.
• Support and secure cloud-based business applications and collaboration tools.
• Troubleshoot endpoint, network, and connectivity issues.
• Maintain hardware inventory, asset tracking, and device lifecycle management.
• Develop scripts and automation to improve IT operations and efficiency.
• Conduct security audits and enforce compliance, security, and access control policies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base content.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support employee productivity and technology initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of experience providing end-user support in enterprise environments supporting macOS, Windows, and Linux systems.
• Experience administering enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms such as Jamf, Intune, Kandji, or similar solutions.
• Proven experience managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms, including user lifecycle management, SSO, MFA, and access governance.
• Strong understanding of endpoint security, access controls, and security policy enforcement.
• Experience supporting regulated environments with compliance requirements related to data privacy, security, and sensitive information handling.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of identity and authentication protocols including SAML, SCIM, OAuth, and 802.1x.
• Experience with modern endpoint security tools, zero-trust security models, and certificate-based authentication technologies.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless networking, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity supporting conference room technology, audiovisual systems, and collaboration hardware.
• Experience working in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, life sciences, financial services, or other compliance-driven environments.
