Job description
- Leads the development of systems architecture and requirements that adhere to applicable government open and common architecture standards.
- Translates mission needs and technical objectives into clear, actionable system requirements.
- Defines and manages system requirements and interfaces from early concept through integration and flight test.
- Leads planning and coordination of system validation activities, ensuring alignment with design and operational goals.
- Executes system-level validation including environmental testing for temperature, vibration, and altitude.
- Partners with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, integration, and test functions for seamless system development.
- Leads failure modes, reliability analysis, and risk management efforts across the development lifecycle.
- Contributes to system reviews and documentation to support safety, performance, and reliability.
- Applies understanding of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Government Reference Architectures (AMS GRA, A-GRA, OMS/UCI).
- Applies knowledge of systems engineering tools and standards including DOORS, SysML, and MBSE approaches.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments.
- Basic understanding of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) in defense systems.
- Experience in aircraft or UAV development programs as a Systems Engineer.
- Familiarity with one or more Government Reference Architectures (GRAs) such as AMS GRA, A-GRA, or OMS/UCI.
- Strong foundation in Systems Engineering principles applied to complex, multidisciplinary systems.
- Experience creating and validating environmental requirements including temperature, vibration, and altitude.
- Familiarity with the full system development lifecycle from concept through test and delivery.
- Preferred: Knowledge of FACE Technical Standard, SOSA, and cybersecurity principles in Government Reference Architectures.
- Preferred: Knowledge of military standards for environmental testing including MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461., Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) to comply with ITAR regulations.
