Job description
Performs MTBF, MTBUR, and FMEA calculations for reliability engineering of mechanical systems. Defines test methods for new and novel designs based on expected failure modes. Defines lifecycle acceptance criteria for seat components and mechanisms. Performs statistics and probability analysis for Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA). Builds reliability prediction models to evaluate product functionality. Performs Accelerated Stress Testing (AST) and replicates product malfunctions under controlled conditions for failure diagnosis. Applies data analysis techniques including Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiment (DoE), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Provides technical approvals of maturity test plans and test reports and assesses completed test results for acceptability. Contributes to developing engineering solutions to failures observed during the life cycle of seats and components. Serves as a reliability specialist assisting in Technical audits, MER, and Design reviews.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR). Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering degree, or minimum of 12 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree. 9 years of experience in reliability engineering or related experience. Solid understanding of Mechanical Systems. Basic understanding of electrical systems. Knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) principles. Proficiency in data analysis techniques including RCFA, AST, FMEA, DoE, FTA, and MTTF. Preferred: Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) experience. Preferred: Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) experience. Preferred: Statistical Analysis (Weibull, Binomial, Poisson, etc.) experience. Preferred: Knowledge of CAD systems (Pro-Engineer and CATIA)., Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) to comply with ITAR regulations.
