Job description
- Own end-to-end UX for assigned product areas, from early concept through final Figma handoff.
- Own and evolve design system patterns and component standards, partnering with engineering to maintain consistency between Figma and production.
- Design conversion-optimized experiences across product discovery, consideration, cart, checkout.
- Design engagement-first features: quizzes, shopping and party coordination tools, and social sharing surfaces that fuel Birdy Grey’s lifecycle strategy.
- Partner with engineering on technical constraints (component libraries, APIs, microservices) and design within them without sacrificing quality.
- Collaborate with the creative team to keep digital experiences cohesive with brand identity and campaign direction.
- Conduct design reviews, usability sessions, and research synthesis to ground decisions in real user behavior.
- Advocate for and implement WCAG accessibility standards across all design work.
- Communicate design rationale clearly to cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
- Partner with Product, Growth, Analytics, and Engineering to identify customer friction, develop hypotheses, design experiments, and use results to improve conversion, engagement, and retention.
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions, including behavioral analytics, session recordings, customer research, and experiment results.
- Continue evaluating experiences after launch, using performance and customer behavior to identify opportunities for iteration and improvement., By clicking on the link below, we will no longer collect or sell your personal information. Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree Required, * 6+ years UX/UI design experience with a portfolio spanning commerce (conversion-driven) and engagement-driven experiences
- Mobile-first instincts with a track record of designing for conversion on small screens
- Expert-level Figma: component creation, auto-layout, variables, prototyping, and developer handoff. You are the person others come to with Figma questions
- Technical literacy: you understand how browser behavior, APIs, data models, and application architecture shape UX feasibility
- Deep WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA fluency: a practitioner’s understanding of inclusive design, not checkbox compliance
- Strong design theory foundation: you can articulate why a layout works, cite interaction design principles, and give constructive critique
- Data-informed: comfortable with A/B test results and session recording tools (Hotjar, FullStory)
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; you manage your own work against a roadmap and communicate decisions clearly
- Strong product judgment: able to balance customer needs, business impact, brand, technical constraints, and speed while clearly articulating tradeoffs.
- Experience designing complex workflows or multi-user journeys and simplifying them into intuitive customer experiences.
- Strong experimentation mindset with experience translating customer or business problems into hypotheses, testable designs, and measurable outcomes.
- AI-native workflow: actively uses AI and emerging prototyping tools to accelerate exploration, research synthesis, prototyping, and iteration without compromising design judgment or craft.
- Excited about AI and actively leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, Copilot) to accelerate your own work and identify opportunities to embed AI-driven automation across operations
- Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform data deep dives to surface actionable insights.
- Proactive problem solver with the ability to troubleshoot and/or escalate issues effectively.
- Hard working and willing to roll sleeves up - no job is too big or too small.
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, fluid environment. You are comfortable with ambiguity and take initiative to lead projects.
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience with ecommerce, B2B, and social media UX designs
- Startup or high-growth DTC background
