Job description
- Design, build, and maintain reports in IBM Cognos Analytics (Report Authoring, Dashboard Authoring).
- Develop interactive dashboards and visual analytics, potentially cross-referencing with Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense for specific business units.
- Modify and troubleshoot existing reports based on user feedback or changing business requirements Test and validate report outputs against source data for accuracy.
- Perform Data Modeling and build and maintain Framework Manager models and data modules that serve as the semantic layer for reporting.
- Update models as underlying source systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint) change.
- Ensure the semantic layer accurately reflects business logic for Finance, HR, or Project Accounting data.
- Perform SQL & database tasks.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries against Oracle or SQL Server.
- Develop and maintain stored procedures, views, and functions.
- Diagnose and resolve query performance issues.
- Review execution plans and tune indexing/queries.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Possession of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or four (4) years relevant experience in lieu of degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
- In addition to the education requirement, a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience developing enterprise reporting solutions using IBM Cognos Analytics.
- Expert knowledge of:
- IBM Cognos Analytics (11.x/12.x)
- Framework Manager
- Report Authoring
- Dashboard Authoring
- Strong data modeling experience, including designing and maintaining Framework Manager models, data modules, and enterprise semantic layers.
- Experience analyzing business requirements and translating them into scalable reporting and data models.
- Strong SQL development skills with experience writing complex queries and optimizing performance.
- Working knowledge of database programming, including stored procedures, views, functions, and query optimization.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or other enterprise relational databases.
- Experience developing interactive dashboards and visual analytics using Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, or a comparable enterprise BI visualization platform.
- Strong understanding of Cognos security architecture, LDAP/Active Directory integration, and deployment processes.
- Experience troubleshooting performance issues and optimizing enterprise reporting environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, lead technical initiatives, and mentor junior developers.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP and reporting.
- Experience developing reports for Finance, HR, or Project Accounting.
- Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS or Informatica.
- Experience integrating REST APIs or web services into reporting solutions.
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), Git, or other version control systems.
- Experience supporting cloud migration or modernization initiatives.

The posted pay range for this job is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data.
The salary range posted is a full-time equivalent salary and will vary depending on scheduled hours for part time positions
