Job description
The Visual Content Designer is a full-time role for a designer who’s ready to make the visuals that bring our organizing programs to life. You’ll create the participant-facing visual content across Relentless programs - slide decks, graphics, and toolkits - that tens of thousands of people see, use, and share as they learn about upcoming elections and mobilize their friends and family to vote., Hours Expectations: This role requires a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, to accommodate recruitment and event volume. We anticipate a six day workweek in the final stretch, starting in October and running through Election Day., * Design slide decks for program events and training.
- Create graphics and assets for program videos, including informational event videos and how-to videos for Rally, our organizing platform.
- Design brand assets like logos, headers, and Zoom backgrounds.
- Create social media graphics, including posts, video clips, gifs, and ads.
- Make organizer graphics, flyers, and shareable toolkits that staff and participants can post and share.
- Create visuals for recruitment or partners when needed.
- Work from existing templates and brand guidelines to keep a consistent look across everything, and suggest where new assets would be helpful.
- Use our tools - Notion, Canva, Google Workspace, and Slack - to do the work, collaborate across teams, and deliver great work on time.
- Take on additional responsibilities as they come up, with the expectation that your day-to-day mix of work will shift with program needs.
Requirements
You have a strong eye for detail, can work quickly, and are creatively flexible. You’re comfortable working from templates and brand guidelines to keep a consistent look across a lot of material. Most of this content is program-facing, so you’re at home making things people will actually post and share. If you move easily between different kinds of design work, take feedback well, and are excited to work on a variety of projects, this role is built for you., * 1-3 years of design experience, ideally in organizing, advocacy, campaigns, nonprofits, or another mission-driven setting.
- Strong Canva design skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Can execute quickly and creatively across a range of formats.
- Comfortable working from templates and brand guidelines to keep a consistent look across a lot of material.
- Energized by fast-paced, evolving environments and juggling multiple projects on deadline.
- Comfort with tools like Notion, Google Workspace, and Slack, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- Video editing experience is a strong plus.
- Access to a computer and reliable internet.
