Job description
We have an opportunity for a Junior IT EUC Engineer to join their team of staff in the Group IT department.
This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
- You provide first-line EUC support for end-user devices, incidents and service requests, troubleshooting common hardware, operating system, application, connectivity and user-access issues.
- You take ownership of assigned tickets, progressing issues through to resolution where possible and escalating complex, high-risk or recurring issues to senior colleagues when required.
- You support endpoint configuration and remediation activity across the EUC estate, including non-compliant, vulnerable or misconfigured devices, patching exceptions and device health issues.
- You follow approved configuration baselines, remediation instructions and security requirements, escalating exceptions or risks appropriately.
- You support the end-to-end lifecycle of EUC devices, including joiner, mover and leaver activity, hardware refreshes, break/fix replacements and site changes.
- You prepare and deploy devices and coordinate collections, replacements and logistics to ensure equipment reaches users and sites within agreed timescales.
- You accurately record incidents, service requests, troubleshooting activity, resolutions and asset changes within the relevant IT service management systems.
- You support EUC projects, migrations, upgrades and technology deployments as directed, completing assigned activities in line with agreed plans and standards.
- You work collaboratively with Clinical IT, Information Governance and Security, Service Desk, Core IT Infrastructure, Applications and Data, IT PMO, site teams and third-party providers.
Requirements
- HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, IT apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in IT/Computing, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience within an IT support or EUC environment, such as Service Desk, Desktop Support, Field Support or Workplace Technology.
- Practical experience supporting Windows-based devices, peripherals and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience providing remote and/or desk-side support within a customer-focused environment.
- Awareness of endpoint management, configuration, device administration and remediation concepts.
- Experience following IT support processes and maintaining accurate ticket, asset, stock and support records.
- Good troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve common end-user technology issues and escalate appropriately.
- Good communication, organisation and attention to detail.
- Evidence of ongoing learning and professional development within IT.
