UI/UX Designer, AI First

We are seeking an experienced AI-First UI/UX Designer to join our talented Technology team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end UI/UX design of fireclaytile.com, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and high-converting e-commerce experience. You will own the design process from conceptualization in Figma to creating build-ready specifications for our development team. Additionally, you will manage the Shopify Plus backend configuration, including products, collections, metafields, checkout processes, and navigation. Collaborating closely with our internal developers and growth marketing team, you will spearhead custom development projects such as Salesforce/Shopify integrations and sample ordering experiences. Your expertise in AI tools will be essential in optimizing workflows, enhancing site performance, and executing CRO experiments. • Manage Shopify Plus backend configurations, including product setup, collections, metafields, checkout processes, and navigation structures
• Collaborate with internal developers to lead custom development projects, including Salesforce/Shopify integrations and sample ordering systems
• Partner with Growth Marketing on landing page design, CRO experiments, and site performance enhancements, utilizing AI tools to increase efficiency
• Maintain and improve the visual consistency and user experience of the website to ensure it remains beautiful, fast, and highly converting
• Work closely with leadership to align design strategies with market trends and company goals
• Implement and oversee accessibility standards and mobile-first design principles across all digital assets
• Coordinate with remote and offshore developers to ensure timely and accurate project delivery
• Stay updated on emerging AI and design technologies to continuously optimize workflows and site performance

• 5+ years of UI/UX design experience for e-commerce platforms, with significant expertise in Shopify (preferably Shopify Plus)
• Proficiency in Figma, capable of producing detailed, build-ready specifications for developers
• Strong understanding of Shopify Plus backend configuration including products, collections, metafields, checkout, and navigation
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Liquid to QA developer work and prototype small changes
• Experience in the home category such as tile, flooring, furniture, fixtures, or related building materials
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, own projects, and manage remote or offshore development teams
• Robust AI workflow knowledge and experience with AI tools (e.g., Claude) integrated into design and development processes
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership
• Strong e-commerce instincts focused on conversion optimization, page speed, mobile-first design, and accessibility
