Staff Software Engineer

A fast-growing developer infrastructure company is building a new AI Governance team focused on helping enterprises adopt coding agents securely and responsibly.

The team owns two core products. The first is a centralized gateway between coding agents and leading model providers, giving enterprise customers visibility into usage, cost, authentication, and audit activity. The second establishes secure network boundaries around agents, controlling which services, domains, and methods they can access from within development environments.

This is a hands-on Staff level role spanning Go backend services, distributed systems, security, developer tooling, provider integrations, and user-facing product features. You will work closely with product, design, enterprise customers, and external technology partners while contributing to a growing open-source ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

• Design and deliver features across an enterprise AI-governance platform
• Build distributed backend services in Go
• Integrate with leading LLM providers and developer tools
• Strengthen authentication, auditability, usage tracking, and network-policy controls
• Contribute to TypeScript and React product functionality where appropriate
• Improve open-source products used by enterprise engineering teams
• Collaborate with customers to understand real-world security and governance requirements
• Document architecture, implementation decisions, and operational tradeoffs
• Support systems through production rollout, troubleshooting, and continued improvement
• Move quickly from prototype to reliable enterprise implementation, Go, PostgreSQL, GCP, Kubernetes, gRPC, TypeScript, React, Vite, Prometheus, Grafana, and GitHub Actions.

This is an opportunity to help define how enterprises govern AI-assisted and autonomous development while remaining deeply hands-on with the underlying product and infrastructure.

• Eight or more years of professional software engineering experience
• At least one year of recent professional Go development
• Experience building distributed systems in Go
• Strong debugging and production troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Broad technical ownership and sound architectural judgment
• A curious, analytical approach to difficult engineering problems
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment

Helpful Experience

• TypeScript and React
• Developer tooling or developer infrastructure
• Platform engineering or infrastructure as code
• Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, GCP, or gRPC
• AI gateways, LLM provider integrations, or agent infrastructure
• Authentication, authorization, network security, or policy enforcement
• Open-source software development
