Engineering Manager, AI Developer Platform

We are partnering with a growing developer infrastructure company seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team building AI-enabled development experiences.

The team develops the systems that allow software agents to operate effectively within real engineering environments. The work covers agent execution, integrations, tool use, context handling, streamed interactions, and workflows that may run over extended periods.

This person will grow and support the engineering team, influence technical direction, and remain closely involved in architecture and implementation. The role offers a combination of people leadership, product development, distributed systems, and applied AI.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers
• Help set the technical direction for agent execution, integrations, and developer workflows
• Stay close to the code and participate in architecture and implementation decisions
• Improve how software agents use tools, manage context, stream results, and complete long-running tasks
• Create flexible integrations that can support multiple AI models and providers
• Partner with Product and Design to turn emerging AI capabilities into practical developer experiences
• Improve the reliability, performance, and operational health of distributed agent systems
• Establish clear priorities and help the team navigate technical tradeoffs
• Maintain a strong engineering bar while creating opportunities for individual growth

• Experience managing and developing software engineering teams
• Strong, recent hands-on experience with Go
• Professional experience with React and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience building applications or infrastructure around LLMs and software agents
• Familiarity with model APIs, tool calling, context management, or iterative agent execution
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems
• Working knowledge of AWS
• Sound technical judgment and comfort making decisions in ambiguous environments
• A track record of mentoring engineers while maintaining delivery and quality standards

• Coding agents, developer tools, or cloud-based development platforms
• MCP, multi-agent systems, or reusable agent tools
• Remote execution, sandboxed environments, or isolated compute
• Integrations spanning multiple AI model providers
• AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, or Linux
• Open-source contributions
• Direct collaboration with customers or enterprise users

• Backend: Go and PostgreSQL
• Frontend: TypeScript and React
• Infrastructure: AWS and Kubernetes
• Observability: Prometheus and Grafana
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions
