Job description

The location of this position will be in the following county: Kanawha. Requirements for this position include but are not limited to:
- A valid driver’s license OR State issued ID and dependable transportation are required.
- IF APPLICABLE: Travel to various State Agencies to perform work and maintain accurate mileage records.
- Regular attendance is an essential part of this position., * Provide advanced LAN/WAN design.
- Provide installation and troubleshooting techniques to state agencies in areas of network voice, video, and data convergence.
- Document changes or additions to all network designs and schematics.
- Troubleshoot computer systems and connectivity issues.
- Configure and install routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other related equipment.
- Implement various statewide network projects involving connectivity to various state, federal, or other external entities.
- Operate diagnostic and/or monitoring tools to identify and provide problem resolution for critical statewide connectivity.
- Provides assistance and coordination of level two support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Wireless networking?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Substitution: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid personal computer or server support experience may be substituted for the required training. Successful completion of twelve credit hours or the equivalent thereof of industry recognized authorized/certified LAN administration, network service/support and/or network technologies training may substitute for one year of the required training. Experience: Five years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in information processing field, one year of which is experience in local area network administration support and/or networking of standalone, mainframe, minicomputer, and LAN connected microcomputers and two years of which is experience in installation of hardware and software, support and/or training. Substitution: Twelve hours of computer science or data processing may substitute for one year of information processing experience excluding PC and LAN administration support.
